  • Hello and Welcome!

Come on in... here you’ll find bits and bobs about us, The Larmours, our life, where we live, what we do, and most of all, about our biggest shared family passion – our travels. This is a record for us, a place for us to share pictures and ramblings on what we’ve done and where we’ve been, but you’ll find occasional blethering about other things too.

We met in Hong Kong, and since then have lived and worked all over Asia before settling in China, where our Saffy arrived and then moving to the UAE where Indy joined us. Since we met we’ve travelled – since we married we’ve been on an adventure – since we had kids it hasn’t stopped… ultimately, all our small travels were preparation for the big one – that one day we hoped to take – a gap year, a sabbatical, a break from the daily grind – and starting 2014 we took off on it..... across the world, and then on a road trip that has taken us to three continents so far.....

Grab a cup of tea and come exploring with us,
Kirsty, Tommy, Saffy and Indy xxxx

Letter with some links

I’m an avid reader of the Digital Photography School – whenever I’m at a shoot and people ask me for a good book or course to help them learn photography I tell them to head over to DPS because it’s full of great tutorials, reviews and tips – I’m a professional photographer and I subscribe to it – there’s always more we can learn…. so it was great to have a few travel pictures featured over there – and here are the links….

Letter from the mountains

We spent this last weekend in the stunning mountains of the UAE – seriously, I could never tire of them…. it was great to have a weekend away, exploring the wadis and hanging out by the pool because these next few weeks as we head towards the end of term, with all the chaos that brings and as we prepare for our summer travels, are going to be crazy – this was my weekend of calm before the storm!!

Just a few pictures from up there – I will add more once the storm has passed and we are back to the calm of the summer holidays

And yes, the goats were intrigued about what Indy was upto – they were scared of Saffy though and ran away when she climbed up to see them!!

Until next time, Kirsty x

PS I didn’t get around to adding more photos here – but I did blog them over on my work blog – LOTS of them – lots of the stunning landscape we can escape to here 🙂 did I say that the mountains, and weekends away make me happy??!!!!

Janine

I love all that texture but mostly, I love the Goats ears. They say a lot. The girls are looking stylish as usual 🙂

Lovely as always. And I agree with Janine…girls are always stylish! xxx

[…] I LOVE the sand dunes, and I’m pretty content with a gorgeous beach, but nothing beats mountains.  So, off we took for a couple of nights… driving up wadi’s and across plateaus and […]

Letter with a song

this song is so, totally, perfect…….

check the lyrics….

When you’re tired of your toys,
And of your games, and of the television,
When you’re done with chores and homework
Then it’s time to make a big decision,
You might need a change of scenery,
It might be time to go
Over mountains, over oceans,
Through dark jungles down below
On an airplane, on a railroad
On a tall ship with the tide
All you need’s a little music.
Howzaboutit, whaddya say you buckle
up and we go for a little ride?
Let’s go everywhere man
Let’s go everywhere, man
There’s lots of fun out there, man
We gotta have our share, man
